The two graphs above show the chemical composition of a cross section of stainless steel at
the surface. Read the graph from left to right. As you move further to the right on the graph
the depth of the penetration of electropolishing is shown. Graph 1 is 15 minutes of regular
electropolishing which produces a Cr/Fe ratio of 3:1. Graph 2 is after only 5 minutes of GEMLUX®
electropolishing. Notice how the Cr/Fe ratio is 4:1 at 1/3 of the processing time. This efficient
high quality level of electropolishing is what makes GEMLUX® so outstanding.
The graphs below explains another important aspect of GEMLUX® electropolishing which is depth of
